She MARION -- Dorothy Marie Horne, 73, widow of James Wiley Horne, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at her home. She was a loving mother and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one son.

Mrs. Horne is survived by three daughters, Dottie Malone of Kearneysville,W.Va., Bonnie Fowler of Dickerson, Md., and Betty Strouth of Rich Valley, Va; three sons, Harry Horne of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Charles Horne of Marion and Bobby Horne of Ranson, W.Va; one sister, Darlene Rothgeb of Spokane , Wash; 14 grandchildren, including Connie Henderson, who Mrs. Horne raised; 18 great-
grandchildren; four nieces; and one nephew.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 21, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Goodman's Chapel, Rich Valley, Va., with Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Ceres, Va. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service
is serving the Horne Family.

Charles was born February 5, 1950, in Smyth County, Virginia, to the late James Wiley and Dorothy Crow Horne. He was a caring man who was crazy about his grandchildren. A man of few words, he loved his family and they knew it. If he could be outdoors, that is where you would find him, hunting, fishing or working. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Horne and Duane Horne. Charles is survived by his daughter, Connie Henderson; grandsons, Ryan Henderson and Alex Henderson; sisters, Dottie Malone and husband, Tommy of Kearneysville, West Virginia, Bonnie Fowler and husband, Howard of Dickerson, Maryland and Betty Strouth of Rich Valley, Virginia; brother, Bobby Horne and wife, Dolores of Ranson, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastors Todd and Tammy Porter and Pastor Andy Parkey officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Community Cemetery, Ceres, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, March 4, 2015, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. 1900 Census lists her as Christina, mother to Anna Layman, born March 1824 in Sweden, immigrating in 1869, having 5 children, 4 living. Minnesota Death Records state Christina died Nov 3, 1904 in Minneapolis and buried Nov 6 at Crystal Lake Cemetery. Cemetery records state age 82 at time of death and transferred to this plot May 18, 1923. Buried in same plot is Annie Shumman, age 21. on 4 November 1904 at OBIT.¹
