Note Anna Pearl Bowman More about this family at.1
Birth*29 October 1881 She was born on 29 October 1881 at Smith Center, Smith, KS, USA; Find-a-Grave# 530 305 75.

Born in a dugout on the homestead of her pioneer parents Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bowman, on oct. 29, 1881, Anna Pearl Golden was probably the oldest native-born citizen of Smith County at the time of her death Jan 17,1978.1
Marriage*27 December 1899 She married Aaron Luther Golden on 27 December 1899.1
Note*1900 Anna Pearl Bowman She was the seventh of 17 children in the Bowman family, reared under the conditions of privations and hardships common to the early settlers of the county. She grew to young womanhood in the Davenport community northeast of Smith Center, in Washington Township.
On Dec. 27, 1899, she was united in marriage to Aaron Luther Golden, a young man who came to Kansas from Missouri in 1896. Four children, a son and three daughters, Clarence, Estel, Edna and Ruby, were born to this union.
Mr. and Mrs. Golden moved to Oklahoma in 1905 but returned to Kansas in 1910, settling on a farm in the Davenport Community. Here they became active in all phases of community life, includintg devoted service to the Davenport Methodist Church in which both were members. She was an active member of the Davenport Ladies Aid for 64 years.
Because of Mr. Golden's failing health they moved to Smith Center in 1944. He preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1949, and she contined to maintain her own home until her 87th year, then became a resident of the Dick Nursing Home. After it was closed she went to live in what is now the Bethesda Care Center in Smith Center.
In both places she was a model resident with appreciative praise for the tender care she received. And in both places she was loved for her pleasant dispposition and her uncomplaining endurance of discomfort and pain.
Mrs. Golden was a homemaker in the finest interpretation of that term - loving, kind, concerned for her husband and children, a housekeeper who kept her home immaculate and homey, her ---------------- abode and where friendship was a guest.
She was a quiet, soft-spoken gentlewoman whose busy hands found delight in sewing for her family and in needlework of various kinds. In addition to serving her family, she found time to be a kindly, helpful neighbor and to work untiringly for her church.
Mrs. Golden was a member of the United Methodist Church of Smith Center, to which she transferred her membership after moving from the Davenport community.
Left to treasure the memory of a wonderful mother, mother-in-law and grandmother are: the son Clarence and wife Effie of Rice, Minn; her daughters Estel and her husband Aurel Overmiller, Edna and her husband Harry Duntz; and Ruby and her husband Harry Weaver, all of Smith Center; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; sister Mrs. Nellie Reed of Smith Center, and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, eight brothers and seven sisters, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
Memorial services were officiated by Rev. Elton Hunter and Rev. Francis Spear at 2 p.m. Jan. 21, 1978, at Simmons Chapel. The hymns were sung by Verne Overmiller, Teresa Overmiller and Debbie Jacobs.
Casket bearers were Virgil Golden, Verne Overmillller, Dale Overmiller, Kenneth Peterson, Dennis Duntz. Mike Rust, Gerald Golden and Delvin Duntz. The flowers were tended by Ruby Peterson and Mary Jane Kaup. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Smith Center. in 1900.1
Death*27 January 1978 She died on 27 January 1978 at Smith, KS, USA, at age 96; Find-a-Grave# 530 305 75. She was 96 years old.1

Note* Naomi Belle Hartsook On June 25, 1910, Naomi Bell Hartsook was born at Reamsville, Kansas, to Charley and Clara Estella Hartsook. As a young girl, Naomi gave her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ; it was at this time her eternal home was established. Her parents spiritually guided her through Bible study and prayer around the family altar. In spite of many hardships, she faithfully served the Lord over the years, teaching Sunday School at Reamsville, Gaylord and Smith Center.
Naomi was the granddaughter of David and Amanda Nelson who were among the first settlers in Martin Township. Grandfather David Nelson assisted in building the Reamsvillle Church. Naomi was the last close relative to David Nelson.
Naomi attended Pleasant Valley School for her first eight years and went one year to Smith Center High School. She grew up working on the family farm doing fieldwork, picking corn and doing any task needing to be done. She also worked for the Smith Center Produce candling eggs and at the switchboard for the Reamsville telephone.
Harold Dohe and Naomi were united in Marriage September 6, 1936. To this union two children were born, Eldon Eugene and Ava LeAnn. When Harold passed away in June 1968, Naomi stayed on the farm helping Eldon. In 1972, she built a new house in Gaylord and lived there until October 1979 when she and Harry Duntz were united in marriage and she moved to Smith Center. Harry preceded her in death in December 1995.
Naomi passed away November 22, 2011 at the Smith County Long Term Care in Smith Center at the age of 101.
Left to mourn her passing are son Eldon Dohe of Gaylord; daughter Ava and son-in-law Paul Woods of Melbourne, Florida; stepson Delvin (Iva Jean) Duntz of Higginsville, Missouri; stepson Dennis (Jacqueline) Duntz of Smith Center; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
